Over and Under Railway Bridges and Tunnels 8pm Wed 19th January

Tadley United Reformed Church – Emmanuel Center Hall

A tour of Britain, the cradle of railways, to search out some of the world’s first ever railway bridges, viaducts and tunnels, and some of the UK’s most remarkable examples, finishing with a brief sally into North America, and taking a non-technical look at their engineering and architecture, and some associated social history. Most of the illustrations are from picture postcards, many of them more than a century old.

Talks are free to members (£3 for non-members)

Annual subscription to the society is ₤20.00
